Dr Peter Kent MBBS BSc HONOURS
FRACGP
Dr Kent graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1983.
After 5 years in hospital practice in Brisbane and Kingaroy, he started in
General Practice at Logan City in 1988. From 1988 to 2001 he has been in
private practice in Logan City and Brisbane in partnership with several
colleagues in 3 large multidisciplinary practices. After the sale of his
practices in 2001, he continued to work in the practices until leaving in 2005.
He has been practicing as a locum medical practitioner in 2006 while searching
for a practice to settle and develop again into the high quality practice with
which he has always been associated.
He completed general practice training achieving his Fellowship (FRACGP) in
1991. Since 1991, he has been practice owner, general practice teacher for
medical students and trainees in general practice and an examiner for the RACGP
Fellowship Examination (the final general practice qualification for Australia’s
GP workforce). He retains a strong interest in all aspects of family general
practice and in efficient practice administration.
In addition to his practice interests, Dr Kent has been a member of the Royal
Australian College of General Practitioners Queensland Faculty Board since 1996
and was Honorary Faculty Treasurer 2000-2005 and member of the National RACGP
Finance Committee from 2002-2005. He has been a Director of MAP Funds
Management Ltd from April 2006 to the present. He continues to be a proud
member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the
Australian Medical Association.
